AW 17 Trend Focus: Colour 19/09/2017 – Posted in: Fashion Styling, Latest News, Personal Styling

The catwalk was flooded with colour for Autumn Winter ’17 and we could not be more delighted.

Usually at this time of year you can bank on finding black, grey, brown and maybe burgundy in stores but not this season! What you will find in stores are a choice of reds, blues, mustards and pinks as seen above at DIANE VON FURSTENBERG, JONATHAN COHEN, MUGLER PRE-FALL 2017 and STELLA McCartney and below at ALBERTA FERRETTI, EMILIO PUCCI, FENDI and VALENTINO.

What I love most, is how the Designers are producing staple pieces in all the colours of the rainbow. I saw coats, boots, hats, bags and power suits in all shades being strut down the runway. I’m so over seeing the safe (and quite boring in my opinion) ‘black winter coat’. I totally prefer a colour which will complement the rest of my wardrobe and yours; I find that black teamed with colour can often look really harsh and unless this is the look you are trying to create I would steer clear of this combo. Having said that, you have to exude the confidence and personality to be able to rock coloured staple pieces but trust me it isn’t hard, you just have to love it yourself and not worry what other people think.

The high street always produces desirable alternatives to what the Designers show on the catwalk so that fashion is accessible to all. We like mixing it up and styling designer and high street pieces together and our client’s love that no one can really tell the difference. We make it our business to know what is out there so we can offer our clients what best will suits them be it designer or high street fashion. What do you think of these high street staples we found which are bang on trend in the autumn and winter colours?

Ted Baker, Topshop and Zara haven’t let the high street down with these brightly coloured staple pieces. We are not suggesting you go out in head to toe colour but we are suggesting you allow us to show you how to work colour into your staple wardrobe collection.

If I had to choose ONE colour for you to invest in this season it would have to be red! And before you ask YES there is a version of red for everyone. Red is one of my favourite colours, I love it, I cannot wait to go full head to toe red for a special occasion or maybe just the school run cause I’m crazy like that!

And if I had to choose ONE item for you to purchase in red it would be BOOTS; thigh high, knee high, ankle doesn’t matter – how awesome and sexy would some red boots be for winter? As seen all over the catwalk at CHANEL PRE-FALL 2017, FENDI, GIAMBATTISTA VALLI AND TAMUNA INGOROKVA.

And if I had to select ONE pair, my Stylist pick of the season would be these beauties by none other than Zara. If they haven’t sold out already!
