Galeria Melissa London 30/07/2017 – Posted in: Fashion Styling, Latest News

I love that working in Fashion is no 9-5 career; that’s why this weekend myself and some of the Stylist team decided to visit the ‘Galeria Melissa’ in the heart of Covent Garden. The surrounding streets, Apple Market and Main Square were buzzing with tourists and locals alike; shopping, brunching and taking in some of the very talented buskers but it wasn’t long until we came across our final destination. The Melissa Gallery London is just off the main square opposite Burberry. Futuristic with clean lines, white surfaces, light and airy very similar to a regular gallery accept filled with the most covetable shoes which can be touched, tried on and even bought! Heaven!

There are many distinctive features when it comes to Melissa shoes; probably the most noticeable is the PVC type material, Metflex®, they are made from. The PVC has come a long way since I first came across the brand back in earlier 2000’s in Spitalfields Market, it is now available in a selection of colours, finishes and styles for both men, women and children.

The excitement for me reached peak levels when the brand collaborated with the iconic Vivienne Westwood who is my all-time favourite designer! I liked the Melissa shoes anyway (being a shoe gal) but I knew this collab was going to bring something new, fresh and one of a kind to the table. The gallery did not disappoint as it was showcasing some of the new season design collaborations with Jason Wu who focused on patent, J Maskrey who used Swarovski crystals and Vivienne Westwood who happily used her well known Orbital logo.

The team did not need to prompt me to give them a try, I mean, that would have just been plain rude! 😉 Despite how they look and the material from which they are made, these are some of the most comfortable, heeled shoes I have ever tried. And not to mention, seriously sexy too! Do you agree? The peep toe style works really well for me and will do for most. I love a unique looking shoe which one cannot deny, these are. I am in love with ALL THREE of these so I need your help on deciding which pair(s) to take into AW17 with me 😉 Feel free to leave me your choice in the box below.

There is an exhibition at the gallery on until 15th September 2017 which we highly suggest you visit if you are a shoe lover like me!
