Pure London 26/07/2017 – Posted in: Events, Fashion Styling
Eeek! Being a super busy, working, business running, mum of 1, meant I almost missed my annual trip to the Pure London fashion trade show. Held at the Olympia in Kensington, London , I just managed to slip in an hour before last entry to spy on a snippet of the 700 brands Pure London have been showcasing over the past 3 days.
And let me tell you, it was worth the trip from intu Lakeside shopping centre in Essex, across London, in the middle of the day and at the start of school summer holidays to see some of the amazing brands and collections for Spring/Summer 2018.
Pure London and Pure man is a platform where existing or emerging brands can showcase and sell their collections to UK and international buyers! If it’s good enough for the buyers then it’s good enough for ME! As a Stylist it is important for me to know what to expect in the seasons ahead so I can share this with you all.
As a visitor we were treated very well with free educational seminars given by Fashion Designer Henry Holland, WGSN trend briefings where I found out what the trends are for SS18 and exhilarating live catwalk shows held regularly throughout the day!
Being a shoe gal myself I was really excited by many of the shoe brands, both existing and emerging I came across at the Show. The prettiest shoes by far were by ‘PrettyBallerinas’ and I was really lucky to meet the original designer, David Bell, who created the brand. He talked me through the concepts and inspirations of the collection which in itself was fascinating… I am familiar with the brand as they have a store in Jubilee Place, Canary Wharf which I have visited with Clients so I was keen to see what they had coming up in 2018 and I am so glad I can share a few snaps with you…
Spanish brand Unisa was showcasing some gold and rose gold metallic leather sandals, wedges and slides… they simply stole my heart. I am already pre-styling outfits for 2018!!!! I will surely be visiting their Covent Garden store when the new season collections drop.
A major footwear trend continuing into 2018 are slides and which better brand to visit than Slydes themselves who have really pushed the boat out with the options they have available for next summer. They are focusing more on fashion than the original style which can be found everywhere on the high street – think prints, faux fur, leather, logoed, metallic, silk bows and pom poms. Slydes are a really cool brand which retail through House of Fraser, ASOS, FootAsylum, JD Sports and their own online store.
It was a busy old day but I am not complaining…. I hope you enjoyed the blog feel free to share and share alike… until the next time
